Tac leaned up against her bedroom wall, as she watched the best thing in her life walk out. She knew he was leaving for a good reason but it was in anger. She also knew she would probably never see him ever again.
She squeezed her eyes shut, forbidding tears to wash over her heated face. But somehow, one tear managed to fall. It ran her cheek and dripped onto her lap. She slowly opened her eyes and took a deep, shaky breath.
She guessed the worst part was that the last thing they ever said to each other was "I hate you."

~I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me.~

That only made another tear run down her cheek. Her heart ached and her head was pounded. Yet she felt his arms around her, edging her to go on, be happy without him.

~I still feel your touch in my dreams.~

She tried standing, grabbing the edge of her desk for support but she only failed terribly, falling back down to her knees. She couldn't deal with the heart breaking in her chest.

~Forgive me my weakness but I don't know why. Without you its hard to survive.~

She remembered the first time they had a real conversion. They were walking the Whammy grounds, her and Mello, when Mello suddenly grabbed her hand. Her whole face blazed deep, crimson red and she looked up at him. He looked down at her and smiled, blushing slightly himself.

~Cuz' every time we touch I get this feeling.~

He slowly leaned in closer to her face and brushed her fiery red bangs out of her eyes. She blinked and gulped back, leaning in herself. When their lips touched, she felt the most wonderful feeling grow inside her stomach. Was this what loved felt like?

Her heart sped up as he pulled her onto his lap. He nuzzled her as Meli and Matt argued over their games in the background, ending with Meli sitting on Matt of course. Tac looked over at Mello and smiled slightly as she mouthed "I love you" as he did the same. She knew this was were she belonged.

Mello stroked her cheek and she leaned in towards his hand, smiling and closing her eyes. Mello smiled back and kisses her forehead.

Tac woke up to Mello gently shaking her awake. Her eyes fluttered open as she spotted Mello hovering over her. She giggled and he leaned down and kissed her.

~And every time we kiss I reach for the sky.~

She stood in front of the mirror and ran her hair through her newly shortened hair. She made a face in disgust and sighed. She felt arms snake around her waist and pull her backwards, pressing against Mello. He smiled at her over her shoulder and into the mirror. "Your hair looks cute short." She laughed and felt relief in her heart.

~Can't you feel my heart beat so? I can't let you go, want you in my life.~

She sat in front of him, biting deep down onto her lower lip." He… he touched me."
Mello's eyes widened and he quickly pulled her into a hug, rubbing her trembling body as she wailed out into tears. He continued to comfort her, a uncontrollable anger slowly rising in his gut.

~Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky. They wipe away tears that I cry.~

Tac felt a tang of anger in her heart." You're what?! Y-You can't leave!"

~The good and the bad times we've been through them all.~

He stuffed more clothes into his bag." L's dead. I'm leaving this hell-hole!"

~You make me rise when I fall.~

" But Mello! Where the hell do you think you can go? You're an orphan!" Tac screamed, grabbing a hold of his arms. He shrugged it off. "Anywhere but here."

She clenched her teeth." You can't just go live on the streets! You could die."
He shrugged again and zipped up his bag.

"Mello please! Think about what you're saying. Y-you promised me you'd never leave." she cried. He avoided eye-contact.
" Things… change." he croaked.

She felt her heart fall apart at those words." I…I hate you! You've done nothing but lead me along, making me fall in love with you! I hate you! I wish I would have listened to Near! You don't care about anything but beating him. Is this some kind of game to you?!"

Mello stiffened and growled," This isn't a game. This is life and in life you can't everything your precious little heart desires."

~And every time we kiss I reach for the sky.~

Tac raised her hand and slapped him across the face." I…HATE you." Mello's face was wiped with dumbstruck but easily got past it.

Mello glared at her and ignored the sting on his cheek." And I hate you." Her lip quivered as turned his back towards her.

She slid down to the floor and leaned against the wall as Mello stormed out.
